Biological Family Search

Your DNA, Your Story. Discover your biological identity.

Family watching a sunset

Are you looking for your biological relatives?

If you are an adoptee, an NPE (non-parent expected), or even donor conceived that is trying to identify one or both birth parents, Heritage Kinnections can help. We use a combination of traditional paper trail genealogy, genetic testing, and general investigative work to narrow down potential targets our clients are searching for.

These types of investigations can encompass a wide range of emotions before, during, and after a search has commenced for all parties involved. They can be positive, but also negative if not handled with the utmost care. Ray goes the extra mile to ensure that his clients receive the best possible treatment and results, while only going as far as the client wishes him to.

Our approach

If you are ready to take the step of hiring a professional to conduct a search on your behalf, please feel free to reach out to Heritage Kinnections either by the forms provided, or by phone call, email, or text.

The initial consultation requires no further commitment from you; it is simply to gauge how best to proceed for both the client and the person conducting the search.

If a reunion in some form is desired, we will attempt to make contact on the client’s behalf. Keep in mind that not all people want to be found or contacted. At Heritage Kinnections we respect the privacy of all parties involved.

Our process

We use Genetic Genealogy to conduct our searches. It is the combination of general family history research (paper trail records) with DNA testing.

Paper trail records encompass a wide array of documents which can include anything from Birth Certificates, Census records, and Newspaper articles to Wills, Property Deeds, and Tax records.

If you have access to your original birth certificate or at least some non-identifying information from it, that is a great start. If not, that is still ok, a DNA test is will be your ultimate tool in finding answers. While birth certificates are great, they are not always 100% truthful for one reason or another.

DNA does not lie and will narrow down the search to a very specific family.

All you need to do is share those results with us so we can perform our work. If you have questions about DNA testing in general or need assistance setting up an account to take a DNA test and then share those results, we are happy to help walk you through this process.

Once we get access to those results, we diligently and painstakingly review the best matches to build out potential family trees until we come to a final conclusion.

Pricing

Each case is unique and must be assessed on an individual basis. A flat rate may be used in some cases or an hourly rate in others depending on the needs of the client. Private investigators can charge anywhere from $50 an hour to well over $200 an hour.

Full Disclosure: I am NOT a Licensed Private Investigator YET. This is a goal that I am working toward so I can provide my clients with the best possible service and results. Until this happens though I will be charging on the lower end of those hourly rates. My pricing will go up once I obtain that license.
